"Say Hello to Oblivion..." yeah, not so much...

As of 4:27 am EDT, the Large Hadron Collider has begun operation and, so far, the world as we know it continues to exist. I'll update you all if this changes...

The thing looks like it's going to destroy us all, doesn't it?

And it's in a bunker under the Swiss Alps... it's so S.P.E.C.T.R.E meets Dr. No!

Well, the article in the Times said it would take 2-3 weeks for it to build up to the point where it created planet-eating black holes, so looks like we're waiting...

So, guess what? Apparently to not much public fanfare, the Large Hadron Collider is up and running, discovering things, and NOT causing black holes. Go figure...
