The advantage of living in an apartment is that we're not saddled with maintaining the infrastructure of the building. The disadvantage of apartment living is that we have no control whatsoever with the maintenance of the building infrastructure. So if the owner wants to bring someone in to work on the boiler from 7am-2pm and I want to take a shower before I go to work, I'm getting up at 6:45. So now I'm up, don't have to be at work until 9:30 and it doesn't make sense for me to go back to sleep.
