Let's Have a Pogues Christmas

As I've said here before, I'm a big fan of the Cincinnati-based Internet radio station, woxy: I listen to it all day at work and a lot of the time at home, too. It's an old-fashioned style radio station where the djs program their own shows, they play up-and-coming bands as well as the more established artists, they bring the bands into their studios several times a week for live performances, and they're not afraid to offer riskier music that isn't going to appeal to everyone (the bands featured in the replays of artrocker radio are hit-or-miss for me). More than anything, though, they just play great modern rock that I really like.

Every year in December, they set up an additional stream on their site dedicated solely to holiday music. They play a few quirky classics—someone at the station is especially fond of Dean Martin's take on Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, which completely mystifies me—but for the most part, it's all from the past 25 years or so. I get a little tired of non-stop Christmas music—personally, I don't want to hear any before Thanksgiving and would prefer to have it pepper the playlist until the week leading up to the 25th. But as long as the Holiday Mixer continues to include songs like the one below, I'll have it playing on my computer most of the time starting around December 20th.
